New
Member Christine McHoes has got the 'Deep Obama Blues'
I’m a 50 year old wife, mother, and former
professional singer living in a remote part of Alaska.
When I got married almost 18 years ago, I put music on
hiatus until just recently.
Upon President Obama’s
election, I had very unsettling feelings about this man
becoming our President. Something wasn’t right. What was
‘hope and change’? Czars were being appointed
that were unaccountable to high offices, and the very
first bill, 10,000 pages long, was passed unread by
congress. It wasn’t long before campaign promises were
being dumped and very bad, and outrageously expensive
legislation was being passed along with the very
unconstitutional Health Care. I was losing my country on a
faster clip than with any former president. The only
shining light this president gave our country was a kick
in the butt wake-up call to the masses that love this
country, that we are quickly becoming the United Socialist
States of America, and distribution of wealth is Obama’s
mantra. I wanted to see ‘change’ but in the
‘right’ direction.
We will lose our country and the
blessings of God if we continue down this path and our
children will inherit unconscionable debt. The November
vote is more important than ever. While I was doing
my daily walk around the block, I came up with this song
that just would not leave me alone. So, I continued
working on the lyrics and melody. Then, when President
Obama won the Nobel Peace Prize, I had my first verse and
the song was completed. I wanted a more professional sound
to my song so I went into the studio and recorded it with
a few changes and help from a very good friend. I hope you
enjoy it.
So, after a long hiatus, I’m back doing my
first love, writing music. I’m not usually a political
song writer, but the fodder coming out of the White House
was too much to ignore. I am a born again Christian and
presently in the process of recording songs that I've
written over that past 30 years that reflect my faith.
Hopefully that project will be done within a year. Happy
listening!
