What
Fathers Day meant to me this year... By Tom Martin of
United 4 Freedom
My
Grandson Matthew, 18 months old and in the process of
saying the Pledge of Allegiance. In his left hand is a
small flag he generally waves while we say it, but I was
unable to get that in the photo. We're blessed that he
Loves his Flag, and stands tall while we recite our pledge
each time he visits. From the Moment he arrives at our
house, he points to the flag mumbling "uhnn uhnnn"
(that’s Matthew talk for Please give me my flag) and
Always get a huge smile on his face as soon as he has it
in his hand. He immediately puts his right hand over his
heart as soon as the flag is in his left.
Matthews’s patriotism reminded me
this year that on Fathers Day, we need not only pay
tribute to our Loved and in my case deceased dads, but as
importantly we need to pay
tribute to our Founding Fathers. The men who's Bravery,
Honor, and Commitment granted us the most blessed Nation
this planet has ever know. Men who were willing to swing
from a Tree for the price of Freedom.
So my fellow patriots, it’s never
too soon to teach respect for the things in which we
honor, and I pray someday Matthew will teach his
son, and tell him, "My grandpa, taught me this, so
now I'm teaching you"
That’s what Fathers Day means to
me... If he only remembers
that, My time here on earth has been validated...
Matthew
visited and gave me a New Patriotic
shirt for
Fathers Day, I wonder how
he Knew I had worn out my others... Thank you Matthew,
Nothing could have made me happier then spending the Day
with such a
Patriot like you...
God Bless the USA, those who defend
her, and those
who Honor the Cost of Freedom...
